Urban sidewalks, as one of the most important urban regeneration strategies, play an effective role in improving the quality of public spaces, increasing urban vitality, strengthening social interactions, and realizing the right to the city. However, the success of such interventions requires identifying feasibility indicators appropriate to the physical, social, and cultural characteristics of each city. The present study aims to explain the feasibility indicators of creating urban sidewalks as a strategy in urban regeneration to realize the right to the city with an emphasis on the components of the Islamic-Iranian lifestyle in the city of Marand. The research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in nature and was conducted with a mixed approach. In the first stage, the initial indicators were extracted through a systematic review of scientific sources and, after screening based on the PRISMA guidelines, were evaluated and finalized in a fuzzy Delphi format with the participation of 25 experts in the field of urban planning and design. Next, the relationships between the indicators were analyzed using structural equation modeling based on partial least squares. The findings showed that security, social interactions, presence, vitality, spatial justice, accessibility, and place identity are the most important indicators of feasibility of creating urban sidewalks and play a decisive role in achieving the goals of urban regeneration and the right to the city. Accordingly, simultaneous attention to physical, social, and cultural dimensions in sidewalk planning can provide the basis for improving the quality of urban life and strengthening the Islamic-Iranian lifestyle in the city of Marand.
